Good news for fans of the Arc System Works fighter BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger that Aksys so thoughtfully brought to North America – its spreading to another system. BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is being ported to the PSP as BlazBlue Portable. Arc Systems Works recently announced the new project and Famitsu confirms it.

BlazBlue Portable‘s going to be as similar to BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger as possible, going by 1Up‘s report. All the characters from BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger will be there and there’ll be ad-hoc wireless multiplayer. The only new addition is Legion Mode, which has your fighter conquering a map by taking part in fights against other characters. Sounds like another good reason to play the game.

BlazBlue Portable‘s just been announced in Japan, so there’s no word yet on any other potential additions. Pretty much all we know is it’s a port and it’ll be out February 25, 2010. A worldwide release hasn’t been announced yet, but given the success of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger it seems likely.
