Japan Import: BlazBlue Continuum Shift goes portable

BlazBlue Continuum Shift PS3

BlazBlue is going portable again, and it’s going to include some extra features that may make Xbox 360 and PS3 owners BlazBlue: Continuum Shift a little jealous. Arc System Works is going to release BlazBlue Continuum Shift II on the PSP in Spring 2011. Don’t let the II part fool you – it’s pretty much just a PSP port of BlazBlue Continuum Shift.

Technically, BlazBlue Continuum Shift II is a port of the BlazBlue Continuum Shift II arcade game. But it still can be considered equal to the console versions since the arcade version is the console versions with the three downloadable characters Platinum the Trinity, Valkenhayn R. Hellsing and Nanaya immediaely available.

The PSP version will also have two additional game modes, Wireless and Abyss. Wireless is local multiplayer, which supports four players. Only two of those players get to actually play, the other two are just able to watch the match on their own PSPs. The Abyss mode hasn’t been detailed yet.

While it may be tempting to import a copy of BlazBlue Continuum Shift II, what with the PSP being region-free and fighting games being quite import friendly, I’d advise against it. Aksys is pretty commited to bringing all BlazBlue games to North America. Since it picked up BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Portable, it’ll probably work on
